With my 7+ year old desktop not being able to keep up with current generation games, it was time to get a new one. Should be arriving in a few days (got a good deal during the capitalism orgy sales recently). With that knowledge, NMS had been tempting me throughout the Autumn Steam Sale... Finally bought it again with 20 minutes left. I hope the UI improvements I've heard about are real...

Played a few hours over the weekend. Still feels a little clunky/rough around the edges is some ways, but overall it's a lovely little game that nicely scratches that "need to explore and discover" itch. I'm not sure I really enjoyed my first 45 minutes or so of gameplay... but if you stick with it, things finally click (about the time you land on your second or third planet or so) and it becomes something special. Looking forward to seeing what they do with the next updates.

Oh god, the first hour is pretty rough alright.
My love, I am the speed of sound.
I left them motherless, fatherless. Their souls dangling inside-out from their mouths.
But it's never enough.

Finally made it to the Galactic Core today. I should organize my screenshots of my journey.

Next looks a bit nice, although I'm not fussed about the multi-player gubbins, unless it's with you guys on Steam at some point.

Same. I don't need multiplayer. I do like the new visuals.

Still haven't managed to get off first planet - can't find all the stuff and got bored! Summer holidays coming up so may have another go - what I need are tips...

I've got it on PS4 so probably won't be multiplayering with anyone on Steam soon, knowing Sony...
I'm also not bothered by multiplayer, and it doesn't look that different to me as far as I can remember it. If it's still as monotonous as before then I'm not interested...
