When did it die ?
Why did it die ?
When did people stop coming and making games ?
What went wrong ?

Re: Retro Remakes
Time just keeps rolling on, like a river. Forums as a whole seem to be dying.
The whole remake thing seems to be getting "stolen" back by the developers and publishers wringing a bit more money out of their IP rights with Ultimate versions, and Remastered versions.
Crash Bandicoot for a recent example, and also the upcoming Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
Don't be sad it's over, be glad it happened. That's what people told me about my marriage anyway.

Re: Retro Remakes
It’s not dead. I sincerely believe that.
Not until there is only one of us left calling themself a twat, banging their head against a wall of unusable code and wishing the pile of WIPs in front of them would just fuck off to the great repository in the sky.
The problem I guess is not when people stopped making games, it’s more when people stopped finishing them.
I point to myself as an example here, my last ‘finished’ game was 2012. I’ve been working on a game or two since then, one in particular. But nothing close to finishing.
This place, however, is the difference between me not finishing it, and me never picking it up again.
I need this place, and like any other thing anyone relays on, I take it for granted, I abuse it and I ignore it for weeks on end.
But I always come back.
Just one. More. Hit.
