C.H.I.P. ("The $9 Computer")

Format specific babbling. From Speccy to anything that's not the Speccy but they're probably not as good but we'll live, I guess.

I'm itching to get one of these now. As soon as i hear that the supply/delivery issues are sorted I will grab one.

Still loving mine. Moving on from Pico-8 stuff now - Installed Code::Blocks and SDL2 library and got a simple example running on my way in this morning.

Code::Blocks' UI widgets aren't playing nicely with PocketChip, making using the IDE a bit of a challenge. Going to make a post in the official forums and see if they can help me sort it out.

I started doing some simple SDL experiments, then remembered I've done this before a few times... So I've decided to migrate Raid Over Fort Apocalypse (My RR 2008 compo entry) to SDL2 and to support the smaller screen size...

Finally got a shipment notification. Then I noticed that the tracking page shows Yodel as the carrier when it arrives in the UK!

Yodel - the worst delivery company in existence.

ARGH!

MyHermes are worse than Yodel, judging by experienced peeps posting of major losses on the Jamma+ forums :(

I have this compiling, but not working yet. Very difficult to debug when your IDE won't behave itself...

And wow, Yodel delivered ahead of schedule and not a mark on the box!

Had a wee play with the Pocket CHIP last night and overall quite impressed. The keyboard is just horrible though - can barely use it for anything. Will have to do something about that.

Also, no internal speaker - will have to sort that out too. And then there's all those pins broken out for modding - hmm... what to do :)
