C.H.I.P. ("The $9 Computer")

Format specific babbling. From Speccy to anything that's not the Speccy but they're probably not as good but we'll live, I guess.

I've been getting a lot of hand-cramps lately... Suspect the PocketChip keyboard is the culprit!

Abandoning my Raid On Fort Apocalypse port. Got it partially working, but I lost interest in revamping the input system. Started feeling the time pass with no progress on the game I really want to be making, but I know this little computer won't handle my graphics engine... But then I remembered there are plenty of systems my game will need that aren't tied to graphics at all (or at the very least, are decoupled from it), and it should be more than up to the task of building them. So I've started creating my game's underlying economic engine as a separate project that I will integrate into my game engine later.

You can't buy these anymore and the company behind them has gone very quiet. Lots of unhappy people who have no CHIP, no refund and no communication from the company. Their forums have turned into a bit of a shit-show.

I'm still rockin' my PocketChip on my daily commute, though.

I'm happy I never got around to pledging for this one.
... and sadly enough - if I had it would probably have been sitting in a drawer since then anyway.
But I'm glad you got yours and is still enjoying it :)

It seemed like a great little product - but at a price point that broke the company. Shame.

Still no official communication from the company (and that seems unlikely at this point)... But yeah. She's dead, Jim.
