Re: The "I'm working on a thing" thread

This looks great. I'm a huge fan of Dungeon Master - had the original for the Atari ST. This looks a lot like Grimrock which is a good thing. Hope its a bit more forgiving though!

What is it written in and what did you use for the models and textures?

Re: Laser Squad remake for Android

Love what you're pulling together and note you're in Day 63 of development (guessing that's 63 days of development rather than 63 consecutive days). Either ways looking really good! I had the original boxed Spectrum Rebelstar and bought Laser Squad as soon as I had the pocket money to cover it - so ...

Re: C64

Commando was one of the games I played on the C64 with my mate Paul. It was a great conversion and a lot of fun to play. Hehe. Good to hear. Me and my mate Craig played Commando to death but we turned the sound down and always played it along to AC-DC's Fly On The Wall album. Awesome. Whenever I he...

Re: Jet Set Willy remake thing WIP thread

Looking forward to seeing what you've developed. :)

I always find that 10 minutes surf of the retro forums and sites gets me in the moods for a good couple of hours coding.

Re: The things on the internet (amount of funny may vary)

That's just a bit disturbing (teletubbies are disturbing full stop - glad both my kids hate them). Just need the thin white duke to jump into it from the Bing Christmas special - ashes to ashes style. (ya cannat beat a bit a bing tho, or you couldn't pre 77).

Re: Recreated ZX Spectrum

Aha! Read up on the Steve Wilcox issue so understand now the high level of hate in the forum! Thought the reaction to the advert seemed a bit extreme, especially from fans of retro systems 'cause otherwise it looked pretty good to me (if a bit pricey). I still have a working rubber keyboard original...

Re: Recreated ZX Spectrum

I really want one of these . . . with an sd card slot and functionality to play .zxs, .tap, z80 images. and spectrum rom so I can poke 23609, 10.

Probably wouldnt buy one as it is but when someone works out how to flash it I probably will!

Re: Jet Set Willy remake thing WIP thread

Definitely looking forward to seeing what you produce and how it develops. Massive fan of anything JSW so will be watching this with interest. At some point I will do a platformer and have some ideas but its a way off yet. When I'm lacking motivation I find a trawl of retro remakes and the other ret...

Re: The Ones That got Away (Or Not)

[quote="Spraydough... I created a 40 room HotM demo engine a couple of years back and, although I would love to take it further, it was written in C++ and Allegro and I'm loathed to go back there again. It's one of those games that I wanted to do justice to but could never find anyone interested in ...

Re: The Ones That got Away (Or Not)

I'm normally not too bad though I do stop myself from starting (stop starting!) new projects 'cause I'd also have a load of them lying around. Still 'in development' I have a dbpro version of Lords of Midnight (got a working walkable land but not much else), a 99% complete version of Defender in GL ...
